A holistic approach to regeneration will always require the formation of partnerships between organisations and therefore partnership working is an essential element in the skills required for successful regeneration. This seminar looks at the origins of the partnership approach in regeneration and considers the costs and benefits of an effective partnership. It examines the step by step approach needed to engage stakeholders and build a successful culture of partnership working. Implications of contemporary government initiatives are discussed including current government thinking on area partnerships and engagement at a local level. The seminar concludes with a look at how to evaluate the effectiveness and the strength of a partnership whilst looking into ways it could improve its effectiveness.
