Economic Development and Funding

Seminar Content

Economics may be called the 'dismal science' but without economic development people living in deprived communities would have dismal prospects. This seminar provides an overview of the drivers of economic development, of the different approaches adopted by regeneration agencies and of policy tools and mechanisms. It examines the arguments for public sector intervention to promote economic development and how this development can become sustainable. Case studies and practical exercises are used to ensure that the day is participative and that we can draw on each others experience and knowledge.
