Professor David Noon
Dean at Coventry University
David Noon is Dean of the Faculty of Business, Environment and Society and Professor of Economic Regeneration. He is an economist and is also trained as a Chartered Town Planner. He has published widely in the UK and overseas and has advised organisations and businesses in the public, private and voluntary sectors on a range of local economic development and planning issues. David commenced his career in professional planning practice working on regional and sub-regional land use planning and latterly economic development and regeneration.
David works with Coventry University’s Applied Research Centre in Sustainable Regeneration which provides advice and undertakes applied research projects for a wide range of public, private and voluntary organisations.
The focus of this work has been upon measuring and evaluating the impact of inward investment on local economies and developing appropriate policies in response. Research included localities in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and the Far East.
David currently teaches on the BURA Regeneration Training Programme on the Property and Physical Renewal module with Dr Glynn Jones.
