Dr Angus Kennedy OBE

Angus has over thirty years regeneration experience in the public and private sector and has been actively been involved in most of the Area Based programmes. From 1993 to 2005 Angus was Chief Executive of Castle Vale Housing Action (CVHAT). In 2003 CVHAT was identified as one of the top six Regeneration Agencies in England.

Since forming CRP, Angus has worked on a wide variety of projects for DCLG, Government Offices, RSLs, private developers; the ASC, centres of Excellence, professional Institutes. These include:

  • Acting as Course Director for the Regeneration and Sustainable Communities Masterclass 2006 and 2007 for CIH, BURA and the ASC
  • Programme Director for IDEA/BURA course on Fit for Purpose Housing Strategies

He is also an active participant in a number of other regeneration organisations:

  • A Neighbourhood Renewal Advisor for DCLG and Advisor to the ASC
  • A Board member of Opportunity Peterborough (Urban Regeneration Company)
  • Chairman of the RTPI Regeneration Network;
  • Independent Advisor to Lord Heseltine’s Cities Task Force

Angus was awarded his OBE in 2004 for Services to Social Housing in Birmingham, and awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Birmingham University in 2005 for his work in the regeneration of Castle Vale and his wider contribution to the City of Birmingham and the West Midlands.
