David is a Chartered Town Planner with over 30 years’ experience in all aspects of urban planning and over 20 years’ senior level experience of managing muti-disciplinary professional teams to achieve commercially successful urban regeneration on a large scale.

His experience in both the public and private sectors includes 9 years in local government and 12 years with the former LDDC, covering many strategic planning projects with the comprehensive regeneration of urban areas, major brownfield developments and transport infrastructure projects. He was responsible for all planning aspects of the urban regeneration of the Royal Docks area.

He has been a lead professional in preparing and presenting development briefs, frameworks and master plans for major regeneration projects, is skilled in handling major negotiations and liaison with private and public sector bodies and has extensive development control and public enquiry experience.

He has acted as the chief planning witness at major public inquiries such as the London City Airport, East London River Crossing and A3 Hindhead bypass tunnel.

David currently teaches on the BURA Regeneration Training Programme on the Environmental Impact and Sustainable Development module with Michael McMullen.
