
Sponsored by Communities and Local Government, the Awards for Community Inspired Regeneration 2008 celebrated best practice in community inspired and led regeneration in urban and rural areas across the United Kingdom.
This year eight projects were selected for recognition:
Category A - projects with full time employees:

Winner: The Creation Development Trust, Bridgend
Runner Up: The Living Quarry, Portland
Runner Up: X-Site Skate Park, Skegness
Commendation: Restoration of the Garrison House and Grounds, Isle of Cumbrae
Category B - Projects with no full time employees:

Winner: The Nessie Club, Runcorn
Runner Up: Operation Kingfisher, Lewisham
Runner Up: Park View 4 U, Lytham
Commendation: Butterfield Green Community Orchard, Hackney

The award ceremony, was held at the House of Lords on 20 March 2009. BURA was delighted to welcome the family of former CEO Jon Ladd to the proceedings, the ceremony was dedicated to Jon's memory for this year after his tragic passing early in 2009.
